Welcome to the webpage of ICESAVE Engineering on SPM Offloading Buoys. ICESAVE Engineering is an Iceland based engineering company with offices throughout the entire world. We are a consultancy group serving the Offshore industry for well over 40 years. Due to the our Icelandian roots we are highly affected by Ice and everything that comes with it. Within the Offshore Industry we are well renounced for our participation in deepwater and arctic developments. Our most recent archievement is the mooring design of the Russian Akman project where we predicted mooring stresses based on predicted ice loading.
With the melting and degradation of the arctic region ever more Offshore oil and gas fields become available to be produced. Due to lack of infrastructure and water depth we notice a trend towards usage of floating structures for field development. The safest and most effective solution for offloading production from a floating platform is to use an SPM offloading buoy. To gain further understanding in the process of ice loading on SPM buoys and impact on the design of the mooring system we erected this webpage. We will keep posting all new developments to establish this website's position as a centre of expertise on SPM Offloading Buoys in the Arctic region.
